Dry Lobe Pumps

The manufacturer can tell you which certifications, if any, their rotary lobe pump meets.

A gentle pumping action minimizes product degradation.

They are popular in these diverse industries because they offer superb sanitary qualities, high efficiency, reliability, corrosion resistance, and good clean-in-place and sterilize-in-place (CIP/SIP) characteristics.

Frequency control available

The sanitary designs break down further depending on the service and specific sanitary requirements.

Only the gearbox and bearings, which are separated from the pumping chamber, are oil lubricated.

This means that there is no need for oil or grease in the compression chamber.

Dry lobe pumps are used in a variety of industries including, pulp and paper, chemical, food, beverage, pharmaceutical, and biotechnology.

If wetted, they offer self-priming performance.

These requirements include 3-A, EHEDG, and USDA.

Rotary lobe pumps are non-contacting and have large pumping chambers, allowing them to handle solids such as cherries or olives without damage.

They are widely used in the hygienic processing industries, including food & beverage processing and biopharmaceutical manufacturing.

Dry lobe pumps are positive-displacement type pumps that use two or more lobes rotating around parallel shafts in the pump’s body to move liquids.

Unlike gear pumps, the lobes used in these pumps do not make physical contact with each other, a feature that provides some distinct advantages in pumping certain types of materials.

They also offer reversible flows and can operate dry for long periods of time.

Flow is relatively independent of changes in process pressure, so output is constant and continuous.

Dry running

The only factor, aside from slip (mentioned later), that determines the amount of fluid being pumped is the speed at which the lobes turn (i.e., the pump’s operating speed, not the motor’s RPMs).

Dry lobe pumps can be used in many industrial applications that need coarse or fine vacuum.

Most dry lobe pumps use gearboxes to increase or decrease the operating speed.

Two non contacting triple lobed rotary lobe rotors rotate against each other in the compression room.

Modular design

They are also used to handle slurries, pastes, and a wide variety of other liquids.

What type of application use dry lobe pumps?

What are the advantages of our dry lobe pumps?

Dry Lobe Pumps, are dry running positive displacement pumps.

Rotary lobe pumps range from industrial designs to sanitary designs.

Dry lobe pumps deliver a defined volume of fluid for each cycle of operation (i.e., each turn of the lobes).

These pumps offer a variety of lobe options including single, bi-wing, tri-lobe, and multi-lobe.
