Diaphragm Pumps

One of the major advantages of this type of pump is the reduced maintenance costs associated with oil-free operation.

A diaphragm type dry vacuum pump is a mechanical vacuum pump that does not use oil or liquid.

Diaphragm pumps work completely without oil which has several advantages for the user:

A membrane (rubber, Viton ® or Teflon® ) is moving up and down in the pump body compressing and exhausting gas coming from the inlet.

Less maintenance compared to other technologies saves time and money

With the recent rapid development of the semiconductor manufacturing industry and the electronics equipment industry, demand for the diaphragm type dry vacuum pump has also been increasing.

Strength: The pump does use oil, which allows clean exhaust.

Inlet and exhaust check valves are actuated by the pressure difference.

Diaphragm Pumps

Diaphragm vacuum pumps represent one of several pump designs ideal for creating vacuum conditions in the laboratory. As they avoid the need for pump oil, diaphragm pumps offer much higher corrosion resistance and typically require much less service support than oil-sealed pumps. Operators working in lab environments often choose a diaphragm vacuum pump for applications in which chemical resistance is important. The ultimate vacuum of a diaphragm pump can reach as low as 0.3 Torr, which is sufficient to handle most suction and evaporative applications in the lab. Chemically resistant PTFE pump heads ensure long operating life, allowing these diaphragm pumps to serve corrosion-prone rotary evaporators, or flask and bottle evacuations, all without contaminated aspirator water.

Weakness: The pump can not obtain a high vacuum.

Diaphragm pumps have no lubricant (oil-less), and they use a flexible cavity to move gases within the pump.

Uncontaminated pumping of gases results in cleaner samples and no risk of oil back-streaming

The chemically resistant diaphragm cylinders (and seals) fluctuate back and forth drawing air into the vacuum.

Dry vacuum allows cleaner workplace and environment

Diaphragm pumps – also known as membrane pumps – are positive displacements pumps used in the rough vacuum range from 0,5 to 1000 mbar.

A diaphragm type dry vacuum pump is a vacuum pump that exhausts gas using the reciprocating motion of the diaphragm.

Especially, it is not contaminated by oil vapor. This pump is ideal for applications that require a clean atmosphere.
