Televac MX200 Gauge Controller — Modular Vacuum Control from Ultra-High Vacuum to Atmosphere
The Televac MX200 Gauge Controller is a modular, production-ready vacuum control unit that reads and controls multiple Televac and compatible sensors to cover an exceptionally wide range—from as low as 10-11 Torr up to 10,000 Torr (depending on connected gauges). With a high-contrast OLED display, intuitive touch controls, 0–10 V analog outputs, programmable relay set points, and optional industrial communications (USB/RS-232/RS-485 standard; Ethernet/IP or PROFINET models available), the MX200 is built to anchor metrology on research rigs and in automated lines alike.
Why Choose the MX200?
- Modular, scalable design: Configure the controller with the exact gauge mix you need (thermocouple, convection/Pirani, piezo diaphragm, capacitance diaphragm, and cold cathode). Add modules as your process evolves.
- Multiple sensors, one screen: View up to eight readings simultaneously on a bright, 180°-view OLED with units, status, and set-point indicators at a glance.
- Wide gas support: Built-in gas selections (air/N2, Ar, H2, He, Ne, Kr, CO2) help improve measurement relevance across common process gases.
- Automation-ready I/O: 0–10 V analog outputs (per sensor) with high resolution and programmable relay set points (per module) simplify pass/fail logic, pump/valve interlocks, and data collection.
- Industrial networking options: Choose standard USB/RS-232/RS-485 or factory options for Ethernet/IP or PROFINET integration with PLCs and MES.
- Flexible mounting: Use free-standing, rack, or panel mounting to fit benches, carts, and OEM panels.
Build a Full-Range Measurement Stack
The MX200 lets you pair rough, medium, and high-vacuum gauges for continuous coverage from atmosphere to high vacuum on the same controller. Popular combinations include:
- Low/rough vacuum: Televac 4A Convection (Pirani) or thermocouple sensors for rapid response from atmosphere down to ~10-3 Torr.
- High vacuum: Televac 7B cold-cathode (Penning) modules to extend into the 10-7 Torr range.
- Process/pressure control: Capacitance diaphragm (CDG) gauges for gas-independent precision in the milli-Torr to Torr regime.

- Analog outputs: 0–10 V DC per sensor (high-resolution) for DAQ/PLC.
- Relay set points: typically 4 per module (up to 8 total depending on configuration) for interlocks and alarms.
- Communications: USB/RS-232/RS-485 standard; optional Ethernet/IP or PROFINET models.
- Power & environment: 115/230 VAC, 50–60 Hz; operation 0–50 °C.
- Mounting: free-standing, rack, or panel (cutout and rack dimensions available in manual).
Typical Applications
Use the MX200 across R&D labs, semiconductor and thin-film manufacturing, vacuum ovens and furnaces, coating and metallurgy, leak testing and calibration benches, and automation cells that require reliable, multi-sensor vacuum measurement tied into controls.
Integration Tips
- Plan your range: Combine a rough-vacuum gauge (e.g., 4A convection) with a cold-cathode 7B to minimize gaps between 10-3 and 10-7 Torr.
- Wire for safety: Assign set-point relays to pump/valve interlocks and chamber vent logic; map analog outs to your PLC or DAQ.
- Select gas type: Match the built-in gas settings (air/N2, Ar, H2, He, Ne, Kr, CO2) to the process to improve repeatability.
- Standardize cabling: Use OEM cables for gauge heads and keep runs short; see Televac accessories for cables and power supplies.
Get a Configured System
High Vac Depot can configure an MX200 bundle with the correct modules, cables, and calibration media for your application—plus recommendations for valves, additional gauges, and accessories. If you’re migrating from another controller, we’ll align I/O signals, scaling, and set-point logic to reduce changeover time.
Frequently Asked Questions
How many sensors can the MX200 read?
The controller can control up to 10 sensors, with simultaneous display of multiple channels (commonly up to eight on screen) and individual analog outputs.
Does it support industrial networks?
Yes. The base model includes USB/RS-232/RS-485. Factory variants are available for Ethernet/IP or PROFINET integration into PLC-based lines.
Can the MX200 cover my entire process range?
In most cases, yes—pair a rough/medium-vacuum sensor (thermocouple or convection) with a cold-cathode head and (optionally) a CDG for gas-independent precision in the Torr range.
