Overview:

Ability to mount vertically or horizontally
Exhaust gases exit the exhaust port when the pump is being used to evacuate a process chamber, or when the gas ballast control is being used, or both. The noise level when pumping down rises as the throughput increases and the silencer is used to reduce this noise level.

The XDS silencer has two main functions.

The Edwards Vacuum nXDS series is the next generation in completely oil free, dry scroll pumps and replaces the XDS series. nXDS improves on legacy XDS pumps by offering increased pumping speeds, combined with lower ultimate pressures, lower power consumption and lower noise. Gas ballast allows for pumping of condensable vapours including, water, solvents, dilute acids and bases. nXDS pumps also feature the latest in tip seal technology giving significantly longer life between tip seal changes. Integrated inverter drive with auto sensing voltage input delivers optimized pumping performance globally. nXDS pumps are designed to be completely field serviceable.

These Edwards nXDS exhaust silencer kits are used to reduce the operating noise of the scroll pump. They are effective at dampening the roughing sound that is heard when the pump starts to evacuate the chamber, they act as a vacuum pump muffler. These Edwards nXDS exhaust silencers are designed to vent into the room and should only be used on nXDSi series pumps that are evacuating air from a clean vacuum chamber. They should not be used with chemical series nXDS-ic pumps that are used on chemical applications. These Edwards nXDS exhaust silencer kits have a KF-25 vacuum flange and are supplied with a KF-25 centering ring, KF-25 clamp, and have Edwards part number A505-97-000.

The outer can is made of pressed steel and is split to allow access to the filter elements. The filter element housing is made from Santoprene® thermoplastic elastomer. The element itself is polyester. The foam block is manufactured from filter foam.

These Edwards nXDS replacement exhaust silencer element spares are used to reduce the operating noise of the scroll pump.
